Research & Discovery

The Requirements

IDENTIFY THE MAIN CHALLENGE

Create a low maintenance sales channel that has a high ROI.

GOALS & ASPIRATIONS

A guided experience

Currently hard to tell where to start. Customers go in “blind” and hope for the best.

Feel informed

B2C consumers have a huge knowledge gap on all the options that are available to them. How can they be made aware of these options earlier in the process?

A way to play, experiment, and share

How can the focus be more on play and exploration? Make it a fun experience designing their custom product.

Inspire confidence

Anything custom made is already a risk because there are so many different variables that stray from the norm. How can we build confidence into this customization process?

An asset for retailers

Can the configurator be a useful tool for store associates as much as the consumers?

KEY TO SUCCESS FOR STAKEHOLDERS

In-depth discussion with stakeholders to understand their key to success.

LV-Stakeholders-1
Make it look better
Everyone agrees this is an outdated design and system that needs a big revamp to make it look and function better. The word “clunky” was used several times to describe the current experience.
Increase the ease of use
Consolidate, streamline, and maybe even eliminate workflows. The current convoluted landscape of flows make it hard to understand what youʼre building and what youʼre getting. Make it so someoneʼs mom can use just as well as her kids.
Make the boring easy, exciting, and out of the way
There are many options that are crucial to the order, but there shouldnʼt be a spotlight on it. Make the boring steps a breeze to get through so consumers can jump to the fun and exciting options.
Builds flexibility into the configuration process
Allow both someone who is starting from scratch and someone with a clear design in their mind to both use the configurator in the most efficient way for them.
Grow online awareness and engagement
COVID-19 created a new revenue stream online that wasnʼt there before (even with the higher price point). There is growth potential and the configurator can become a great marketing and brand ambassador tool for LEVOLOR.
Create more upsell opportunities
With so many options to choose from, recommendations or suggestions may not be something consumers will hide away from. They may even help store associates give the same recommendations to consumers in the stores.

UNDERSTAND THE CONSUMER'S NEEDS

Determine consumer’s preferred configuration order and path-to-purchase decision factors.
