Where have I been? Working! Some life-changing news to start off the year.
At the start of January, I left my position as lead designer at Stuffitts® to pursue an entry level position at a design agency. It’s been something that I want to do for awhile, but I happen to get the in-house designer position at Stuffitts® while I was still in school so I concentrated on that for awhile. We part ways amicably and I started sending out my resumes. A few weeks later, I got a call to come in for an interview at Aumcore. Right at the beginning of February, I was asked to come in and work for a day to test the waters. Now I am a freelancer there working on all sorts of projects!
I have to say I am really enjoying my time there. It’s my first time working in an agency environment and that was noted by the Creative Director there during my interview. However, I’m glad he didn’t mind that fact and went ahead and decided to ask me to come back. I can finally talk about fonts, negative spaces, Paul Rand, and no one will look at me funny! I’m just a freelancer though so the projects I get to work on vary. However, I’ve already had the opportunity to work on so many things! Whatever happens, I’m just glad I got this opportunity. One tip my friend told me during my resume sending stage: keep sending out resume! Do not stop. You never know who will come knocking and the only way they can knock if they hear about you somehow.
Night! Off to work tomorrow! :)
